PET of
the Month
(that's Permaculture
Energy Transfer) is hosted by a member whose property benefits
from the many willing workers who attend - who in turn benefit
from the experience and the wisdom of their co-workers.
P.E.T. of the MONTH
Saturday
20 th June at 2pm, all welcome to Sita
Tschannen’s
little bit of paradise! Come earlier and enjoy a cuppa on the
verandah.
Jobs
include: paper & mulching a shady area at the bottom of the
garden; we could plant Yakon there if anyone has any to spare;
I’d like a couple more trellises to be constructed, a blueberry
bush moved, comfrey to be split & planted, some chopping &
dropping etc.
Bring
a plate of yummy food to share for dinner (this is the best part).
Its always a great help to bring cutlery & crockery. Sita’s
place is at 26 Hollygreen Cres, Palmwoods. Just a bit south of
Woombye on the Nambour Connection Road, take the Palmwoods turnoff
& continue for about 3 klms. Hollygreen Cres is on your right
side, last house in the street on right again. P.E.T. signs will
be displayed to guide you. Phone Sita on 54459740 if unsure of
weather. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Future
P.E.T. days: Saturday 17 August will be at Cheryl McElligott's
place in Blackall Range Road, Woombye. There we will tidy up up
Zone 1 (the vege garden) weeding, mulching, planting etc. If you
need more information you can ring our PET co-ordinator, Rosina on
54491228.
Sita’s
P.E.T. day will be followed by a fundraiser for Children of the
Golden Triangle. She travelled to Thailand recently to this refuge
to work for 2 months on a voluntary basis. It will be held at
Dana’s house which is located at 3 Bellwood Crt, Keil Mtn, only
a 10 min drive from Palmwoods. Starting time is around 6pm and
everyone is asked to bring a plate of finger food to share &
byo drinks. Plenty of music will be provided, so it should be a
pleasant evening. A $5 plus entry donation is asked. This is a
great cause as it is saving Akha hilltribe children from sex
slavery. The refuge has now grown recently from 45 children to
110. David & Asa will be present to talk & answer any
questions. Come & join in the fun!
